Care Tips to Keep Your Dog’s Favourite Products Lasting Longer

By following these tips, you’ll not only prolong the life of your dog’s favourite products but also ensure they remain safe, hygienic, and fun for your pet.

Clean Regularly and Thoroughly

  • Handwashing: Wash these items after each use to prevent food residue from hardening and becoming difficult to remove. Use warm, soapy water and a soft sponge or brush to clean all grooves and textures.
  • Dishwasher-Safe Products: Many of our products are dishwasher-safe (check the product description). Place them on the top rack for a gentle wash cycle.

Avoid Harsh Cleaning Products

Use pet-safe, non-toxic detergents when cleaning your dog’s items. Avoid strong chemicals, bleach, or abrasive cleaners, as they may degrade the materials over time and could be harmful to your dog.

Supervise During Use

While our products are made with pet-safe materials, dogs can be enthusiastic (and sometimes destructive) when using them. Supervise your dog, especially with lick mats and puzzles, to ensure they’re not chewing or tearing at the product.

Inspect Regularly

Check products regularly for any signs of damage, such as cracks, tears, or loose parts. If you notice any wear that could pose a risk to your dog, replace the product immediately to avoid accidents or ingestion of small pieces.

Store Properly

When not in use, store your dog’s lick mats, feeders, and puzzles in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to heat or UV rays can weaken the materials over time.

Use Appropriate Foods

Stick to soft foods for lick mats, like peanut butter, yoghurt, or pureed vegetables, as hard or sticky substances may damage the surface or be harder to clean. For slow feeders and puzzles, avoid overly large or hard treats that could get stuck or cause excessive force during use.

Avoid Overloading Products

For treat puzzles, don’t overfill compartments, as this can lead to frustration for your dog and unnecessary strain on the product. Use appropriately sized treats that match the puzzle’s design.

Replace When Necessary

Even with the best care, no product lasts forever. Over time, wear and tear is inevitable, especially with frequent use. Replacing worn-out items ensures your dog stays safe and continues to enjoy their favourite products.
